A few questions about Hypnotherapy & Hypnosis answered.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, akin to being between waking and sleeping.  A trained Hypnotherapist will utilise this state to empower a client to resolve their condition.

Is it Safe?

Completely safe, in fact we all have been in a ‘trance’ state at one time or another (daydreaming etc) although we don’t associate it with hypnosis.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Hypnosis is a two way street, and the subject has to be completely willing in order for hypnosis to succeed, that said, almost everyone can be hypnotised as long as they can concentrate.

Do people lose control?

No, People in hypnosis are completely aware of all surroundings while in therapy and can react to sound, smell, touch etc. People will not divulge personal details that they ordinarily wouldn’t or get them to go against their will, in fact a lot of people are more determined in Hypnosis than in a normal waking state. People can simply choose not to follow suggestion.

Can I use Hypnotherapy instead of seeing a doctor?

Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy and as such, people should combine hypnosis with conventional medicine. Should a person be on medication for a condition, they should seek professional medical advice first. Hypnotherapy is not an alternative to proper medical care.
